How to Get to Athens

Athens, Greece is easily accessed from around the world!

The main airport is Athens International Airport/Eleftherios Venizelos and is about a 45 minute drive from the city. I would suggest taking a taxi into town or arranging for an airport transfer with your hotel.

The main train station is the Athens Train Station. However I wouldn’t recommend taking the train around Greece, as the country is not known for its great railway system. Rather I would suggest renting a car or flying between your chosen destinations.

The main ferry port is Piraeus Harbour, which is about 15-30 minutes into the city. You get between the two via subway, taxi, or arranged hotel transfer.

The weather here varies depending on what time of year it is and the current weather patterns.

The hot season lasts from June to September, with an average daily temperature above 85°F. The hottest month of the year in Athens is July, with an average high of 91°F and low of 73°F.

The cool season lasts from November to March, with an average daily temperature below 62°F. The coldest month of the year in Athens is January, with an average low of 42°F and high of 55°F.
